About the Opportunity:
Orange Corners Designs is a programme by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, run locally in South Africa by The Craft and Design Institute (CDI). It’s a fully funded 10–12 month incubation programme based in Cape Town and Johannesburg, supporting young, visionary entrepreneurs who are committed to solving real-world problems and driving positive change—especially in underserved communities.
What’s On Offer:
Participants get:
Intensive incubation support over 10–12 months
Masterclasses and Design Thinking workshops (in-person and virtual)
Access to workspaces with Wi-Fi, prototyping labs (Makers Space in JHB, Product Support in CT)
One-on-one mentoring and peer coaching
Access to CDI’s network, alumni support, e-learning, market platform (PEEK), and creative exchanges
Access to funding through Orange Corners Innovation Fund, including a prototyping grant if milestones are met
Who Can Apply:
Young entrepreneurs (likely 18–35 years old) based in Cape Town or Johannesburg
Focus on creative industries, circular economy, digital solutions, and gender equity startups
Women- and youth-led ventures from under-resourced communities are prioritized
Must have an existing business with some traction or a validated idea
