About the Opportunity:
The Khoebo Innovation Promotion Programme (KIPP) is a funding initiative by the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (DTIC), managed by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). It's designed to support local entrepreneurs and SMMEs — especially in townships and rural areas — by offering commercialization funding and business support for innovative products that are ready for market.

Who Can Apply?
✅ Entrepreneurs with fully developed, market-ready innovations
✅ SMMEs across all sectors with high-impact, innovative products or technologies
✅ Priority given to grassroots and township/rural innovators

Eligibility:
Innovation & Market-Readiness
Your product or service must be innovative, locally developed, and ready for market with little to no further development needed.
Viability & Sustainability
The business must demonstrate financial and economic sustainability, with a strong, scalable business model and a clear market demand.
South African Small Business
Applicants must be registered South African small businesses (as per the Small Business Act), actively managed by founders or shareholders.
IP Ownership
You must own or have exclusive rights to the intellectual property (IP) of your innovation. Open-source solutions or apps (in some schemes) may not qualify.
