About the Opportunity
The Sasol New Signatures Art Competition is South Africa’s premier platform for emerging visual artists. Now in its 35th year, the competition offers artists the chance to showcase their work, gain national exposure, and launch their professional careers.

Who Can Apply?
South African citizens or permanent residents aged 18 and older
Artists who have not held a solo exhibition (excluding academic exhibitions)
Artists not represented by an agent or established gallery
Artists not employed full-time as lecturers in visual art or design
Eligible Art Forms
All visual media, including:
Painting
Drawing
Printmaking
Sculpture
Photography
Video
Installation
Benefits of the Opportunity
Overall Winner: R100,000
A solo exhibition at the Pretoria Art Museum in 2026
Runner-up: R25,000
Five Merit Awards: R10,000 each
