The inaugural Milken-Motsepe Prize focuses on accelerating progress towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 and 2: no poverty and zero hunger. The Milken-Motsepe Prize in AgriTech is a global competition for innovative solutions to increase economic value to farmers, from seed to sale.
The Milken-Motsepe Innovation Prize program is a series of multi-year, multimillion-dollar prize competitions for technological solutions that accelerate progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a spotlight on Africa.
Who is the The Milken-Motsepe Prize for:
The Milken-Motsepe Prize in AgriTech addresses the problems faced by farmers on small to medium-sized farms in Africa. Many small and medium-sized farms in Africa face two large challenges to realizing the full economic value of the crops they plant

Competition Rounds:
DESIGN ROUND
Teams submit their design and business model. An independent panel of expert judges will select up to 25 teams to receive $10,000 each and advance in the competition.
FINALIST ROUND
Teams develop their prototypes and conduct field tests on small and medium-sized farms in Africa.
Benefits of the Opportunity:
Cash Prize
25 teams to receive $10,000 each and advance in the competition.
The winning team will receive a $1 million grand prize, with $1 million in additional prizes.

Requirements:
Design Round submittals must include design documents, a business plan, and a short video describing their solution. Finalist entries must submit reports based on testing criteria of their solutions as well as an updated, detailed business plan.
Designs must be suitable for use for at least one crop from a specified list of crops grown by small and medium-sized farms in Africa.
All mandatory and optional documents must be in English. Videos must either be in English or contain English subtitles. Links to Google Docs, Google Sheets, or other online materials are not acceptable.
