About the Opportunity

The Sanlam Foundation has refined its education strategy for the next multiyear funding cycle and has taken a pipeline approach. The Sanlam Foundation aims to contribute towards systematically strengthening the education sector.

The Sanlam Foundation is inviting implementing organizations and/or partners in the education sector to express their experiences, models of implementation (evidence-based), and value-proposition (partnerships, innovations, footprint, and so forth) in the following areas of the education system.

Target Areas:

Pipeline 1: Early learning

A. Early childhood development implementation partners

Design and implementation of projects targeting 3- to 5-year-old children
Gr R – transition to foundation phase
Foundation phase interventions
Cross-cutting requirements: Reading initiatives

B. Targeted implementation support partners

Nutritional project for ECD (3 to 5 years) to Gr 7
Early art initiatives

Pipeline 2: Aptitude to career education

A. Learner development and support, classroom support

Gr 9 intervention – aptitude testing and career guidance
Gr 10 to 12 learner development support
Holiday retreats or holiday schools for Gr 11 to 12 (Science, Mathematics and EFAL)
Psychosocial support for Gr 10 to 12 students
Cross-cutting requirements – extra-curricular projects
