About the Opportunity
The Spaza Shop Support Fund—backed by the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) and the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the DTIC)—provides both financial and non‑financial aid to locally owned township and rural convenience stores. You can use the funds to refurbish your shop, aggregate purchases at wholesale rates, and integrate digital tools for smoother operations.

Requirements or Eligibility
Must be a South African‑owned township or rural spaza (convenience) shop
For up to R40 000 funding: no formal registration required
For between R40 000 and R300 000: shop must be a registered business
Willingness to participate in technical‑skill and capacity‑building workshops
