The Vodacom Foundation is the corporate social investment (CSI) arm of Vodacom. The Foundation leverages Vodacom’s enormous technological capability to improve people’s lives. The Vodacom Foundation has three main pillars: Education; Health; and Safety and Security. It also drives and supports an extensive culture of volunteering.
Projects must be:
Relevant and focused – in supporting our focus areas on health, education, and safety and security, and providing innovative mobile technology solutions to address key needs in these sectors in South Africa.
Measurable - projects must have clearly defined, evidence-based goals that can be tracked through their lifespan.
Efficient and effective - projects must have monitoring systems in place to demonstrate their efficiency in running the initiative and their effectiveness in achieving the desired outcomes and impacts.
Distinctive and scalable - projects must demonstrate innovation and, if proven, have the potential to be rolled out to other parts of South Africa to create a greater impact.
Sustainable - projects must be able to sustain themselves financially, technically and operationally once Vodacom Foundation funding has ended.
